In 2000, paper
producing companies released 153,265,438,898 lbs of carbon dioxide
(CO2) into earth’s atmosphere. This is the equivalent of adding
13,916,775 cars to our roads for an entire year.
By reducing the amount of paper consumption, we can begin eliminating
the level of these emissions. We can also reduce the number of
burning fossil fuels and methane from paper decomposing in landfills,
all of which contribute to earth’s climate change and global warming. |
